Velvet Vixens

Are you a Velvet Vixen?

I was talking in Etsy chat to another fashion designer about how we are all unique individuals and I don't want to look like anyone else and I thought most others felt the same way only to find most people want to blend in and look EXACTLY like everyone else. Why that is I'm not sure. And many Americans seem quite content to live in jeans and T-shirts.
I do my best to make all my own clothes or wear things people have given me because I'm so touched that someone would give me something to wear. The number one thing people give me is t-shirts so I've learned how to alter them to put my own spin on them. As far as jeans go, I haven't worn them since the late 70's. I used to embroider on them. Now I wear skirts and jeans just don't fit my paradigm. I'm all for making things out of denim though. Like I made a denim case for my mandolin.
You can repurpose many things fashion wise. You can make all kinds of things out of worn out jeans. But since I don't wear them and therefore can't wear them out, I get them from other people. If you just ask people usually have some damaged jeans clogging up their closets and drawers so just ask.
Or I get them at yard sales sometimes if they don't want an arm and a leg for them. Or is that a leg and a leg?
